About FragranVerse

An independent fragrance engine built for buyers in India and the Middle East. Not for Western reviewers.

Fragrance sites tell you what a perfume smells like. FragranVerse tells you whether you should buy it: for your climate, your budget, and the shelf you already own. The name is pronounced FRAG-ran-verse, like "fragrant" plus "universe".

8,510 perfumes 243 brands 1,239 researched clone mappings

I built this because the fragrance internet has a gap. Western sites ignore the Indian and Middle Eastern houses that most buyers here actually wear. Clone discussions are scattered across forums with no structured data behind them. And every "is this a clone?" answer leads back to the same few affiliate blogs.

FragranVerse works the other way. Every verdict, whether it is clone resemblance, collection redundancy, climate fit, or a recommendation, is computed from structured data, not written by a marketer.

How the engine decides

When you check whether two perfumes are similar, the engine compares their actual note pyramids, top, mid, and base, using a weighted similarity metric. It shows you the shared notes and labels the result with a coarse verdict: Strong, Moderate, or Low. No invented precision percentages. A link never buys a verdict.

The same engine powers the redundancy check, the shelf score, climate-fit analysis, and recommendations. It sees the same data whether you are signed in or not.

What we will not do

  • Show fake precision. No "79% match" numbers. Coarse labels or nothing.
  • Let a link change a verdict. Affiliate links exist, and they are always disclosed, but a recommendation stands or falls on the data, never on a commission.
  • Write verdicts that sound confident about data we do not have.
  • Paywall the database. It is free to browse. Accounts exist only to save your shelf and personalise your advice.

Who runs it

FragranVerse is founder-run and community-fed. Reviews, prices, and clone reports come from people who actually wear these fragrances. The engine keeps it honest.
