FragranVerse runs the website fragranverse.com. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your data. It covers the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act) and other applicable Indian law. By using the site you agree to what is described here.

FragranVerse is run by Adil Haque, a sole proprietor based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.

1. What we collect

a) What you give us

  • Account details when you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile photo. We never see your Google password.
  • What you create: your bottle collection, ratings, reviews, comments, likes, and any role tags you add to your bottles.
  • Messages you send us for support, feedback, or complaints.

b) What we learn from your visit

  • Your city, worked out roughly from your internet connection, so weather-based advice can match where you live. You can change your city anytime on the site.
  • Basic usage: pages you open, searches you run, and the type of device and browser you use.
  • Technical logs: your IP address, timestamps, and error reports that help us fix problems.

We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18, and we do not collect sensitive data such as financial, health, or biometric information.

We process your data on the basis of your consent and, where applicable, the legitimate uses the DPDP Act allows.

3. Cookies and browser storage

We use a small number of essential cookies to run the site and keep you signed in. We also store a few preferences in your browser, like your chosen city and the bottles on your shelf, so you do not have to set them again on every visit. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. With your consent, given through the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to understand site usage. See our Cookie Policy for details.

4. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Companies that help us run the site, under contracts that keep your data private: website hosting, sign-in, email, and error monitoring. Your data stays in secure data centres, and we choose providers who treat it with the same care we do.
  • The law: when required by law or court order, or to protect rights and safety.
  • A sale or merger: if FragranVerse is ever acquired, your data may transfer with it under equivalent protections.

International users. The site is operated from India. If you access it from outside India, you agree to your data being processed in India and by the providers described above. Where your local law (such as the UAE PDPL or the EU GDPR) gives you extra rights, we honour those rights on request.

5. How long we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires. Your account data stays while your account is active. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Aggregated data with no personal identifiers may be kept.

6. Security

We use reasonable protections: encrypted connections, controlled access to your data, and monitoring for problems. No system is perfectly secure, and if a personal-data breach happens we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

7. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you may:

  • Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct: fix inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete: ask us to erase your data, subject to legal requirements.
  • Withdraw consent: as easily as you gave it. This may limit some features, like saving your shelf.
  • Raise a grievance: complain to us first, and if it stays unresolved, approach the Data Protection Board of India.
  • Nominate: name someone to exercise these rights for you in case of death or incapacity.

8. Grievance redressal

For any data question, request, or complaint, email legal@fragranverse.com. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 15 days. If your grievance remains unresolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes are posted here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, we let you know directly.
