Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of fragranverse.com (the “Platform”), operated by Adil Haque (“FragranVerse”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

These Terms constitute an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and do not require a physical signature.

1. Who may use the Platform

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. By using the Platform you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. The service

FragranVerse is an independent fragrance-intelligence tool. It provides perfume information, scent-family and note analysis, collection scoring, redundancy checks, “before you buy” comparisons, editorial content, and a glossary. Fragrance descriptions, note profiles, and clone/inspiration mappings are compiled from publicly available information and general audience consensus, are provided for informational purposes only, and may be incomplete or inaccurate. See the Disclaimer.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access secure.
• We use Google sign-in; your use of Google is subject to Google’s terms.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the law.

4. User-generated content

The Platform lets you post content such as ratings, reviews, collection notes, and community submissions (“Your Content”).

• Licence: you retain ownership of Your Content and grant FragranVerse a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and adapt Your Content for operating and promoting the Platform.
• Responsibility: you are solely responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the right to post it.
• Moderation: community submissions and reviews may require approval before appearing. We may edit, refuse, or remove content at our discretion, including content that is unlawful, infringing, misleading, abusive, or spam.

5. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to host, upload, or share information that:

• belongs to another and to which you have no right;
• is defamatory, obscene, invasive of privacy, insulting, harassing, or harmful to a minor;
• infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right;
• violates any Indian law;
• impersonates another person or misleads about origin;
• contains malware, or attempts to gain unauthorised access, scrape at scale, disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Platform;
• is spam, or automated/bot activity not expressly permitted.

6. Intellectual property

The Platform’s design, code, compiled datasets, branding, and content (excluding Your Content and third-party trademarks) are owned by or licensed to FragranVerse. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, or build a competing database from Platform data without our written permission. Third-party brand names and trademarks referenced on the Platform belong to their respective owners; their use is nominative and does not imply affiliation or endorsement (see Disclaimer).

7. Affiliate links & commerce

The Platform may contain affiliate links. When you click them and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are disclosed per our Affiliate Disclosure. We are not the seller and are not responsible for third-party products, prices, availability, or transactions.

8. No professional advice

Content is informational and not a substitute for professional (including medical/allergy) advice. Fragrances contain allergens; consult product labelling and a professional where relevant.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FragranVerse is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on Platform content. Our aggregate liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid us (which for free use is nil). Nothing limits liability that cannot be excluded under law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold FragranVerse harmless from claims arising out of Your Content, your use of the Platform, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Suspension & changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform, and may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date.

12. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable law, the courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

International users: The Platform is operated from India. If you access it from outside India, including the UAE/GCC or the EU, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. These Terms and Indian law govern your use of the Platform regardless of where you access it.

13. Complaints

For complaints about content or these Terms, email legal@fragranverse.com. We aim to acknowledge within 48 hours and resolve within 15 days.
