Elemi is a resin obtained from the Canarium luzonicum tree, native to the Philippines. Its scent profile combines fresh, lemony citrus notes with subtle balsamic undertones and a hint of pepper, creating a bright yet resinous aroma that bridges the gap between citrus and resins.
How it's used in perfumery
Elemi serves as a natural fixative and provides a bright, citrusy lift to compositions. It works exceptionally well in citrus, chypre, and fougère accords, adding complexity and depth while enhancing other citrus notes like bergamot and lemon.
