A blend of notes that creates a new smell like how individual spices combine to make garam masala. Not one note, but the result of mixing.
Waxy, soapy, champagne-like fizz. The note that made Chanel No.5 famous. Smells synthetic but in a luxurious way.
Not a single ingredient a fantasy note blending vanilla, labdanum, and benzoin. Warm, resinous, slightly sweet.
Fecal, leathery, intense. Real oud, castoreum, civet. Rare in budget perfumes mostly synthetic versions in niche.
Sea breeze, water, calone. Cool, airy, fresh. Perfect for gym and humidity. Think: Cool Water, Nautica Voyage.
Herbs and green notes. Lavender, rosemary, sage. Clean and masculine. Often paired with citrus or woody notes.
The spray mechanism on a perfume bottle. Good atomizer = fine mist, even coverage. Bad atomizer = squirts like a water gun. Armaf is famous for great atomizers.
The foundation. Woods, musk, vanilla, amber. Stays 6-12+ hours. The bassline. What lingers on clothes.
The production run of a specific bottle. Tells you when it was made. Hawas before Aug 2024 = beast. After = weaker. That's batch awareness.
Extremely strong projection and longevity. Fills a room, lasts 10+ hours. Community vibe tag: #Beast_Mode. Hawas, CDNIM, Kaaf are often called beasts.
The most common top note in men's perfumery. A citrus fruit that's fresh, slightly spicy, with a tea-like quality. Found in virtually every "blue" fragrance.
Buying a perfume without smelling it first based on reviews and note descriptions. Risky. Community rule: decant first, blind buy only under ₹1,500.
Citrus top + floral mid + mossy/woody base. Earthy, sophisticated, timeless. Named after Cyprus (French for Chypre). Less common in budget ME perfumes.
Lemon, bergamot, grapefruit, orange. Fresh, sharp, clean. Summer staple. Think nimbu paani in perfume form. Dominant in: Turathi Blue, CDNIM.

A perfume that gets strangers saying "you smell good." High projection, mass-appealing DNA. CDNIM, Hawas, 9PM are top compliment getters.
A small sample (2-10ml) rebottled from a full bottle. Costs ₹100-500. The #1 advice: buy a decant before a full bottle. Saves you from ₹2,000+ mistakes.

Letting a new perfume bottle sit in a cool dark place for 2-4 weeks after first spray. ME perfumes often need this the smell deepens and performance improves. Common with Armaf, Afnan, Lattafa.
Middle Eastern perfume houses Armaf, Afnan, Lattafa, Rasasi, Al Haramain. Known for clones, strong performance, and budget prices (₹1,500-4,000). The backbone of our community.

The smell of air after rain or lightning. Clean, electric, airy. Common in fresh designer perfumes to add "lift".
20-30% oil. 8-12+ hours. Soft projection, intense scent. For evenings, dates, AC environments. Also called Extrait.
Dark, earthy, slightly sweet leaf. The "hippie" note. Adds depth and fixative properties. Common base note in oriental and woody perfumes.
Soft, cosmetic-like. Like talcum powder or vintage makeup. Prada L'Homme is famously powdery-clean.
How far the scent travels from your body. Strong projection = people smell you across the room. Indian heat amps projection.
Creamy, smooth, milky wood. Mysore sandalwood is the gold standard. The backbone of Indian traditional perfumery. Expensive most budget versions use synthetics.
The scent trail you leave behind when walking. Related to projection but different sillage is what lingers in the air after you've left the room.
A perfume that stays very close only you and someone hugging you can smell it. Not necessarily bad some want this for office/close settings.
Incense, birch, burning wood. Adds depth and darkness. CDNIM's smoky birch note is a love-or-hate signature.
Pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, clove. Adds warmth and kick. Spicebomb Extreme is the reference. Common in winter and oriental perfumes.
